This is how one artist-in-residence this year described their experience. It is a feeling that resonates with so many who come to Sitka and engage in our programs. Whether you join us as an artist or scientist in residence, as a workshop attendee, through our Youth Program, at the Art Invitational or online at a Resident Talk, we hope that your Sitka experience feeds your curiosity and creativity.

For 51 years, Sitka Center has provided space for reflection, collaboration and growth. Your support has been central to our success and is vital to our plans for 2022. Donate today and help us ring in the New Year ready to spark wonder for all.

Here is what we will do together in 2022:

• Double the reach of our Youth Program to serve 1,000 kids;
• Return to a full workshop schedule with nearly 100 workshops serving 1,000 people;
• Continue to grow the reach and diversity of our Residency Program, serving artists and scientists with time and space to pursue new work that inspires us all;
• Host a year of thought-provoking guest speakers from the contemporary edges of art and ecology;
• Maintain and improve our buildings and ground in ecological balance with nature:
• Continue to partner with the US Forest Service, the Nature Conservancy, UNESCO, local Tribes, civic leaders and an inclusive Sitka community to determine the most inspiriting and environmentally sound ways to steward and share the land and natural resources in our care.
